Alcohol and drug dependence is a physical and psychological problem which will respond to supportive therapy and medical treatment. We treat patients from 18 years of age in peaceful rural surroundings away from the stresses of urban life, and specialise in offering individual treatment in a non-judgemental manner with absolute confidence assured.

Treatment Programme

Our treatment programme is designed to give maximum consideration and encouragement to each individual patient. Under the close supervision of caring professionals who are highly disciplined in the treatment of chemical dependency, the programme takes the following steps:

1. DETOXIFICATION

A period of monitored detoxification is designed to encourage the patient to reach a point where they stop using addictive substances. Medication will help the patient through this time.

2. INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP COUNSELLING

As the patient may still crave drugs or alcohol throughout this period active counselling is introduced. The patient is educated as to the reason for the dependency and provided with appropriate therapy and counselling, along with the means to rebuild and rehabilitate. Group therapy and counselling helps the patient to share experiences with others who have similar problems. Talking with sympathetic experts has the aim of ensuring the patient recovers successfully from illness and addiction.

3. 12 MONTHS AFTER-CARE SUPPORT PROGRAMME

After leaving the rehabilitation centre a 12 months support programme involving family and friends ensures that constructive encouragement is provided to help recovering patients. Those who are closest to the patient can therefore help continue the benefits of the centre’s intensive programme in everyday life.

We help the individual to:

• Enjoy an alcohol and drug free life.
• To plan and structure each day and cope with stressful situations.
• To identify and fulfil personal needs, accept mistakes and learn from them,
  and to have a choice to change.
• Also to become a trusted, open, honest and assured member of a ‘family’ taking
  responsibility for oneself and gaining confidence and independence.
